Reviews, Previews, Reuse

Reviews, Previews, Reuse

Welcome to the first "edition" of, ta da, "Reviews, Previews, and Reuse". What the heck is this anyway? Well, if you must know, when I was in High School, I used to work on the School’s Newspaper, so I sorta miss not being able to review stuff. Mostly I just reviewed different Anime’s, but still. I miss doing that. ^^ So, if you can bare my horrid grammar skillz and my unprofessional views on stuff, you might just have some fun here.

Anyhoo, in this exciting issue I will, er, "review" the Mr. Man Series!

What is the Mr. Man series? Why does he look like a piece of cheese with legs? What?! Are you working for the Dairy Farmers?!

Mr. Man is the creation of Steve Whitehouse. His origin is rather interesting if you ask me. You can read it here. I have no idea why he looks like a piece of cheese. No, I don’t work for dairy farmers. Why are you asking me questions? I thought I was doing a review here.

Um, my name is Bob. I came in through the backdoor.

..... OK! Moving on. In one of my daily trips to Lycos mail to see if someone actually thought about me and e-mailed me, I saw this ad for Animation Express. Seeing how I was bored stiff, I decided to venture there. After the main page loaded, I saw this little animated gif which at the time looked like a strange creature walking, then falling into a lake of sorts. I actually thought it was a pizza slice at the time, and it was walking. ^^;

Bob: Walking Pizza?! Geeze, you have issues..

-.-; Anyway, I clicked on it and saw one of the Mr. Man films, which was part one of "Mr. Man in: Garden". Indeed at first glance, this flash animation was like none that I’ve ever seen before. Most of the flash animation that I’ve seen was the stuff you’d find on newgrounds.com or zthing.com, but this was way different! It was almost like watching an "interactive comic book". After watching it, I quickly looked to see if there was any other Mr. Man animations available, and yes! There was! I spent the rest of the afternoon watching all the Mr. Man animations by Steve Whitehouse. I loved them all! It was so refreshing to watch flash animation that didn't have that "cheesy cut out" look to it. Mr. Man wasn't "in your face", obnoxious, rude, or obscene, he was just plain kewl! I wondered why I never saw the Mr. Man series before. Steve Whitehouse’s animation was so smooth and clear. Never was there a time where the animation looked "cheap". The flash animation was so perfectly put together, it was like watching a cartoon! But then again, if you read about Steve Whitehouse, you’ll see that this man from Canada has worked on quite a few different cartoons as well, including one of my all time favorites, "Beetlejuice".

Bob: Great, and you’re telling us all this because...?

Because, Iike with most people, if you find something you like, then often you’ll want to share it with others, and this is one of those cases where I want to show my great find to others! Seriously, Steve Whitehouse didn’t pay me to say all this nice stuff about Mr. Man. I’m saying this stuff because I want to! :) That simple! I want to get other people into this series so when I tell people "Oh , I love the Mr. Man series", they wont go, huh? the wha? :)

Bob: Uh huh, and why should we watch this?

Um, well, like I just got done saying, I want to share my love for this series with others. Simple as that! If you need a better reason than that, well, if you want to watch Flash Animations like none other, or watch a series that's truly unique, then Mr. Man is perfect for you! :D

Bob: Okie dokie. Hey, I watched all the Mr. Man episodes! Which one is your favorite?

First off, if you actually took the time and watched all them, I’m sure Steve will be very happy you did, and so would I. ^-^; (Someone actually did something I told them to do!) My favorite is "Mr. Man in Shadow". The reason why I like it is actually very silly. Right before Mr. Man discovers his shadow is alive, he does this goofy lil grin/laugh and it just cracks me up. Its so cute and funny at the same time! :D But other ones that I like would be "Mr. Man in the Cub" and "Mr. Man in Fuzzy".

Bob: When are more Mr. Man animations coming out?

Well, I’m not certain, but you can always check out Steve Whitehouse’s official web site at www.whitehouseanimationinc.com/ and check for yourself! You can also see some of his other non-Mr Man animations there as well. :)

Bob: Aww, but I was hoping I would see some new stuff today... *whine*

Then I’ve got the perfect solution for you!

*slaps Mr. Man banner on screen* Ta Da! The Mr. Man Program! :D Now you can wake up and watch a short little Mr. Man episode each day! Sign up and you’ll have them delivered instantly to your inbox as the roll off the press. :) How kewl is that?!

Bob: Very kewl. But, *raises a eyebrow* do you watch them every day? Hmmm?

o.o; Wellllllllll.. I have to admit, once in awhile I get lazy and don’t watch it..

Bob: GASP! You fiend! Here you’re trying to get us to watch it and you don’t even bother to! BAD!

Heeeeey! ;-; Cut me some slack! I get busy like everyone else and I don’t have time to watch it every day, so when I do watch it, I catch up on the episodes I missed. So >P to you!

Bob: Do you normally stick your tongue at people?

Only annoying ones like you. ^^

Bob: Uh huh.. so, what were those address’ again?

Bob: Hey! You can buy Mr. Man T-shirt’s on Steve's site! Are you going to get one?

^^ Indeed! I will eventually, o_O; once I can stop spending my extra cash like its going out of style.

Bob: Can I e-mail Steve Whitehouse? I have a question for him.

Um, I guess so. You can find his e-mail address on his site. :)

Bob: Kewl. Are you finished now?

O_o; um well if you put it like that, I guess I am.

Bob: Lovely. Can I have my $5 dollars now?

Er.. what $5 dollars?

Bob: The $5 dollars you promised me for listening to you babble... :D

><; I didn’t promise you anything! Out I say! Shoo!

And that's it for the first edition of "Reviews, Previews, and Reuse"! Next issue: Review on: The New Cutey Honey!

Bob: OoooOOo! Cutey Honey.. she’s so cuute.. *drools*

Ok, who let you back in?! Security!
